They Hatched!
Oh puppers and kittehs, you'll never guess what.....go ahead, guess!
Ya'll remember the hummingburds we have nestin' under the patio cover?
(this is Mama hummingburd....)
Well, lookie what I saw yesterday.............
It's kinda hard to see the little guy/gal peakin' it's little head outs of the nest, so Ma waited and waited ......
OMD!! Look at the little guy!!! It's eyes aren't even open yets!!! And it's beak is soooo small yet! Ma was all kinds of excited that he poked his head out enough to gets a good picture!!
Gotta keep my eye on em' to make sure they stay safe....I'll keep ya'll updated....
(Ma, could you bring me a chewey...this might take a while.....)

I hope it doesn't fall out of the nest - you make sure you tell your mom if it does - NO trying to pick it up yourself okay!

OMD OMD RUBY this is SOOOOOOO exciting... Look how TEENY TINY it is... and its BEAK... I had NO IDEA that baby hummers Beaks were NOT LONG like the adults. THIS is SOOOOOOOOOOO exciting... We are just THRILLED beyond belief to have this chance to watch them Grow. THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Awww I love hummingbirds they are precious, they remind me of my grandma as she likes them a lot. I hope they stay safe, keep a look out for them Ruby, you never know when some nasty little critters are around!

Yawza, that's the niftiest thing that you could ever discover in your backyard! :-D What a cool, itty-bitty baby birdie! You make sure that you keep your eyes on it though, cause you never know what they are going to do!! :-)

How exciting! I've never seen anything like it before! We have starlings in our eaves but we can't see them, we just hear their tiny chirps.
ReplyDeleteI love those little birds. They can be so friendly. Why you watching them all the time they will think you are family and might get real close to your face. They buss me in the summer on the porch because we put sugar water out for them.

ReplyDeleteOh Ruby...baby birds!!! I love baby birds. I guarded a little nest in our backyard once until all the babies grew up and flew away. You'll be a great guardian for those Hummingbird babies, I just know it!
