DeleteOoh that looks like an owie! That is why our Mama is afraid to groom us herself... she says she is too clumsy and might accidentally cut Lily's tiny ears off by mistake. Put some coconut oil on your owie and it will heal faster!

My mum did that to me, too, Ruby, but on the back side of my ear. She didn't know anything happened either until there was so much blood -- and then she was so so so sorry and she treated me like a queen. She'd only been clipping me for a year or so when that happened and then she said she learned her lesson because my former groomer (a real groomer) used scissors around the edges of my ears and never clippers. So mum is super careful when she clips near my ears now. I hope it all heals quick.

Ruby, you should have a talk with Bailey. Our Mom did the same thing to her a couple years ago. That ear bled like crazy. We didn't think it would ever stop, but Bailey didn't even react. Mom didn't know till her hand filled up with the blood. Bailey says it will be good as new pretty soon and you'll get lots of guilt treats.

ReplyDeleteWe feel for you, Ruby. Dee did that to the Airedale Dannyboy once before she learned to only cut toward the tip of the ear. For some reason ears aren't cut that way, and she's never mangled anyone else again. We say you should get to go to the butcher and pick out the best cut of steak you can find.

ReplyDeleteOMD, it has been 5 years and this is still a horror to look at. we had a blood bath once on Baby girl, caused by toe nail clipping.. after that we let the vet office do it.
