Okays, so it's been really sucky here.
Or, should I say....
It's been really SMOKY here.
We gots Wildfires burning in the mountains to the West of us
and Wildfires burning in the hills to the East of us.
It's bad.
We are safe.
There is (hopefully) little chance of the fires reaching us.
There is a lot of highways, freeways, concrete between us and the fires.
Butts, there are more Thunder Storms forecast for the next three days.
More Lightning.
More possible fires.
To get an idea of how all these fires started,
check out this video:
here is an idea of where we are
We are where the purple arrow is pointing.
Anyhu,
Ma has been tryin' to gets supplies for the animals that are displaced.
Everything is complicated because of the Covid.

and putting their lives on the line for all of us!
Ma will try and visit all your bloggies this week, and catch up on all your posts!
here is a short video Ma thought was funny.....she thinks my slippery feets are funny.....
Slippery Feets! BOL!
Hi Ruby,
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know you are safe. Our thoughts go out to all those people and their pets who are in the fire affected areas, and to the brave firefighters of course. (Gail once did a firefighting course as part of offshore survival training in the oil industry, and says it was one of the most frightening things she's done).
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Those fires are so scary.
ReplyDeletewe send lots of potp to all epeople and pets and da wildlife... and we hope for rain to stop that evil fires...
ReplyDeleteThat lightning is incredible and VERY scary! We hope the fires are extinguished soon. They are so destructive and sad.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear you are safe Ruby. Our paws are crossed for everyone effected by those fires. We agree with you that slippery feets are not funny.
ReplyDeleteRuby Big says his feets don't slip but his claws do, he has almost the same problem. Big is really sick with congestive heart failure. we are sad in our house and your slippery feet gave me a lift.. praying for all people and animals in the path of those fire and i hope you stay safe. i did not realize you lived in CA. now I know i have 5 blog friends in CA... hugs
ReplyDeleteOh Ruby...she didn't laugh at you, did she? Oh dear, oh dear!
ReplyDeleteWe feel horrible about what's going on with the fires, and think you all should move somewhere else!
And the poor animals; thank your mom for trying to help them.
Wow, that's scary lightning. Mom is afraid of the lightning around here. She would really freak out at that. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteYou can always just jump into San Andreas Lake.
ReplyDeleteWow! We loved seeing that lightning clip! Sorry it's causing so much trouble in your area, though.
ReplyDeleteI live in the central valley of California and we've been in horrible smoke too. Awful. We heard boomers last night and today it's more smokey than yesterday. Awful. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteAwww on the video. Miss Ruby is adorable. I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a woof woof day and week, Miss Ruby. My best to your mom. ♥
Cal Fire really does rock, don't they?? We sure hope the fog and higher humidity rolled into your area like it did ours and things don't get as bad as they say!
ReplyDeleteRuby darlin'''''thank you for the update and for 187% sure we are praying hard for everyone in CA...and I hear it is hot and I feel so bad for the firefighters in all their gear. Don't worry about commenting mainly just keep us posted on how you and Ma are. As for slippery feets Ma is funny.
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses
cecilia
Those slippery feet are a problem for Lightning too. We try to have scatter rugs here and there to help, but he always manages to find those bare spots.
ReplyDeleteThe fires are so bad. We are glad you are safe and we pray you stay that way. It can't be a very easy feeling having the fires so close by. We pray for you, the firefighters and all the peeps and animals to be safe.
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I am sorry we are being affected, like so many others, by the fire. We pray for everyone in its path.
ReplyDeleteO, Ruby, that looks horrible, it breaks our heart to hear this. Granny saw last week a kind of the same lightening here in our Country, for the first time, not half as much as yours, but it scared her. Thank Cat you're safe. I think you look cute while dancing with your paws ;) Pawkisses for a Happy and Safe Week ahead🙏🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteYou've been on our minds, Miss Ruby. Stay safe, and by the looks of it, stay inside. This relentless summer needs to go away. Praying for firefighters and rain.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I forget about what's going on in other parts of the country, especially since I don't watch the news. Seems COVID has also affected me getting updates via NPR, since I used to listen to it on the way to work and back. Thank you for this important info and a reminder of more heroes in our midst.
ReplyDeleteStay safe! May the fires damage be limited.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are still safe. We've been thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteLulu: "We're glad those fires aren't too near you! We don't like fires!"
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Except maybe in the fireplace—"
Lulu: "NOT EVEN THEN!!!"
Chaplin: "Also, we hope you find somewhere to stand where you have a little more traction!"
