This is what our sky looked like today.....
at HIGH NOON!
It's been like this for two days, and forecasting it to be like this tomorrow.
The smoke from all the fires is hanging in the upper atmosphere, blocking out the sun.
here is a link if you want to read the details, and see more pics
It's just creepy, and messes with your head!
It's like 4am all day long!
So, I thought this was an appropriate pic for today.....

Thanks for hosting Sandee!!
Ruby, here in Scotland we have been hearing all about your fires, and totally understand how creepy it must feel. Can you smell the smoke? Gail was in Washington State one summer a few years ago when they had the worst wildfires ever, and she said the smell of burning, even a long way away, was quite horrid. We do hope the fire are brought under control soon, and that you stay safe.
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
we hope the firefighters and the weather can halp to conquer the flames... where is the rain when we really need it?

ReplyDeleteAs an expat Aussie, one thing I don't miss is the bush fires - but the dramatic skies can be quite something. This photograph is really rather lovely, in its own way. But I get that you'd rather not have the 'filter effect' cause that smoke really is nasty stuff. Your hat reminds us the 'een draws close!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Your fires are so scary and horrible. We keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers every day. Your hat is appropriate for your picture, Ruby!
ReplyDeleteStay safe Ruby girl and it does look like a Halloween sky and it matches your witches hat. Those fires are scary just seeing them on TV is a horror
ReplyDeleteWe have the same sky and yes it's creepy. Falling ash everywhere and the air is hazardous. I'm so ready for some clean air.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop, Miss Ruby.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your mom. ♥
You sky is a pretty color but we're sad about why it's like that. We have our paws crossed for everyone in the path of those nasty fires. Stay safe, Ruby (and your mom).
ReplyDeleteRuby...dear me how surreal. I cannot imagine all that smoke. Years ago there was a forest fire down east in one of our coastal national forest...150 miles from here. We had smoke all the way up here.
ReplyDeleteSending hugs and prayers for those fighting the fire and for all who are in harm's way. I saw on the news that Paradise, CA might have to evacuate again...they probably are still rebuilding from 2018 fires
Hugs Cecilia
Oh dear, Ruby!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you and yours are safe, and pray for all those affected by these fires, winds, and the rest.
We have family who live in Mellala Oregon who were vacationing in Montana. They have no idea what their house is doing in Oregon or even if it is still there. They can't go there because all the roads are closed.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words about Allie. We miss her so much.
The Florida Furkids and Mom Sharon
We got pictures from Oregon and that's what the sky looks like there.
ReplyDeleteThose skies are very scary - so your Halloween hat seems most appropriate, Ruby. But we sure wish those fires would burn out quickly. Too many peeps dying and getting hurt and so much loss of property - so very sad.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Sad and yet beautiful in a way. Stay safe. May the fires end. We wish we could send all our rain your way.
ReplyDeleteWe think you're right on with that All Saint's Eve hat, Ruby. Hope the skies clear soon. XOXO Xena and Lucy
ReplyDeleteI would say the country is going to hell but it looks like we are already there.
ReplyDeleteOMD... Stay safe, Ruby. That is really really scary.
ReplyDeleteLulu: "That's a Halloween sky for sure!"
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, R. Your skies are on the news at my house in NJ every day. It looks really scary. Also, your witch hat is a little scary, too. I hope the fires go away soon. I wonder if it smell as scary as it looks. If it does, don't play outside too much.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,

Keeping the whole Western US in our thoughts and prayers during this fire season.
ReplyDeleteOh Ruby the air must be so sick. I would say stop breathing but then you need to breath.
